I am having a lot of email issues with the email address I use to log into Tumblr. As such, I have basically moved my entire tumblr here.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Over a hundred years ago... → dennisnoodles.tumblr.com

Over a hundred years ago, a university student found himself seated in a train by the side of a person who seemed to be a well-to-do peasant. He was praying the rosary and moving the beads in his fingers.

“Sir, do you still believe in such outdated things?” asked the student of the old man.

“Yes I do. Do you not?” asked the old man.

The student burst out into laughter and said, “I do not believe in such silly things. Take my advice. Throw the rosary out through this window and learn what science has to say about it.”

“Science? I do not understand this science? Perhaps you can explain it to me,” the man said humbly with some tears in his eyes.

The student saw that the man was deeply moved. So to avoid further hurting the feelings of the man, he said, “Please give me your address and I will send you some literature to help you on the matter.”

The man fumbled inside pocket of his coat and gave the boy his visiting card. On glancing at the card, the student bowed his head in shame and became silent.

On the card he read: “Louis Pasteur, Director of the Institute of Scientific Research, Paris, France.”

So I was the one who asked about wether you believe in creationism or evolution... And I just thought I would let you know that we didn't evolve from monkeys, but both humans and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor. Not trying to be mean just letting you know for future reference :)

Okay. I really don’t know much about that so thanks for the info.

Do you believe in 6 day creationism or evolution? Just curious to know.

Personally, I’m not really sure. I think that the way God measures time is outside of the way we measure time. Also I don’t believe in evolution at all. If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

Hii Amanda, I Have just read your reply. Thank you so much. That has been a big help i will definitely start doing that. Since i asked you the question God has answered me in a way and has given me some peace over it all. What you said about realising what God wasn't calling you for struck me, because at the back of my mind i feel he is calling me to the Religious life and in doing that i have to give up everything, I have to die to self and that is scary. I feel that is why i have been finding it really hard to pray, because i have been fighting the calling and i know only in prayer will i get the answer and maybe the answer that i don't want but already know. So please could you pray for me and i will pray for you. By the way i know i have said this already but your blog is beautiful :) Godbless you x Your Sister in Christ x

Thank you, dear. I will continue to pray for you.
May God bless you abundantly through this month of His Mother.

Ok, I was trying to find a way to comment on your answer to Rebecca London, but I guess there is no way to do that. Anyway I just wanted to say I feel the same way. I feel like God wants me to get to know Him deeper and get rid of the tv shows, books, etc. that take time away from Him. I feel called to the religious life and think the two are somewhat related. Just my humble opinion. God bless and you'll be in my prayers!

Very true! Thanks.

God Bless!

“Look, my child, at my heart surrounded with thorns, which ungrateful men continuously nail into me with their blasphemies and sins. You, at least, try to console me and tell everyone that those who go to confession on the first Saturday of the month for five months, receive holy communion, say the rosary and keep me company for a quarter of an hour - these I promise to assist at the time of their death with the necessary graces for their salvation.” —The Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima on August 13, 1917

Hello, I just wanted to say how beautiful your blog is. It is one of the best i have seen. Anyway i was wondering if you could help me in some way because im feeling abit down an confused. I love Jesus with all of my heart and soul and with the help of his blessed Mother i have come so far in my relationship with him, but i have so much more growing to do. With Gods grace i have been able to live a life that is pleasing to him and that follows what the catholic church teaches. Although i have overcome some big obstacles in my life, my biggest struggle i am finding now are over comming the little things. There is one thing that i am struggling with imparticular and that is i feel God is calling me to give up everything that would give me joy, and what you would call fun like just everyday things, listening to music, going out with friends you know the usual. Although they are not harmful in themselves i feel it is a waste of time. I can’t explain this feeling. The best way i can describe it is as if everything even the small things make me feel empty and only Jesus can fill that emptyness and all i want and need is him. Like all these things are just useless because they take up precious time i could be spending with the Lord and Our Lady. Then at the very same time i get hit with this feeling of i don’t even want to pray. I find it hard to say the rosary sometimes and i just can't be bothered which is confusing and horrible, because i know i love Jesus, and I feel like i don’t Love Jesus as much as i say i do when i feel like this. It is a horrible feeling because i do love him. I Love him more than life itself. Do you have any idea what could be making me feel like this? im just so confused. If you could help that would be great. Godbless you x

You sound a lot like I did a few years ago. I gave up all of my extracurriculars and forced myself to pray even when I didn’t want to. It took me a while but I realized that prayer is not just repeating words and saying the Rosary. Yes, that is prayer, but that is not the only way to pray. After I spent some time with some amazing Sisters I learned how to do this. Maybe you would like this as well, so I’ll share it.

I learned to try to make every action during the day a prayer. For example, when I turned the light switch on or off I would say “Eternal rest grant onto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.” When I wash dishes I think of all the times Our Lady washed Our Lord’s dishes in the home in Nazareth. When I climb stairs I think of the Via Dolorosa that Our Lord had to climb to Golgotha. My advice is to start slow and add maybe one aspiration/prayer like this every week or so until they come without having to put much thought into it. This has helped me a lot and I hope it works for you as well. I realized I wasn’t called to give up everything, that God just wanted me to recognize Him in my life. Even Jesus partied at the wedding at Cana.

I hope this helps. Have a great weekend. I will be praying for you.
God Bless!
Amanda
